Employee Spotlight - Winnie Chan
Ms. Chan is Capri's school psychologist.

Hello Capri Families! I am the School Psychologist at Capri this year. This is my sixth year in CUSD, and I'm so happy to be back at Capri working with all the students and staff. I support all of our students, those in General Education and Special Education.
I was born and raised in San Francisco and began working as a teacher's assistant, afternoon teacher, substitute teacher, and tutor. In those years I worked with students from Preschool to 5th grade. I transitioned into being a school psychologist by getting my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a minor in Holistic Health and then proceeded to obtain my Master of Science in School Psychology with a PPS Credential and Counseling Credential. I've always gravitated towards wanting to work with students, and throughout my experiences, I always wanted to do more to support the students who needed more time, care, attention, and teaching to complete their work and feel successful. I became interested in school psychology when I supported my aunt through my little cousin's initial IEP. Although I love to work with students individually to understand their learning needs, I also enjoy being in the classroom and being able to experience the moment they have a spark in their eyes because they were able to accomplish something that was once challenging for them.
When I'm not working, I enjoy binge watching shows, playing video games (don't tell the students that though), exploring different hiking trails, finding the newest restaurant to eat at, and traveling. I've traveled to seven countries and 16 states and am hoping to travel to Japan next year. If you have any recommendations feel free to let me know!
