Employee Spotlight - Ms. Brown
Meet Deanna Brown, Capri's new fourth grade teacher.
Greetings Capri Community!
My name is Ms. Brown, and I am so thrilled to be a part of your outstanding community. I wanted to share a little bit about myself. Please visit classroom website for more information.
Education:
I am very fortunate to have grown up in the bay. I attended primary in Fremont before moving to Los Altos in third grade. Fun Fact: Prior to coming to CUSD, I taught at the elementary school that I attended in Fremont as a kindergartener! I received a BA in Sociology from UCLA before receiving my teaching credential through CalStateTEACH. Another Fun Fact: My mother and I got our teaching credentials together! I found technology as a tool for education fascinating and acquired an MS in Instructional Science and Technology from CSU: Monterey Bay. I am always looking for opportunities to learn something new and grow as an educator.
Family and Fun
The best part of having grown up in the area is that my family still lives in the area! I enjoy spending time with my parents, brothers, and son every weekend. We enjoy doing a variety of activities together. Our favorite things tend to involve animals such as going horseback riding, visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium or Oakland Zoo, and going on responsible whale watching tours. Final Fun Fact: Orcas are my favorite animal! I also enjoy traveling to new places and learning about other cultures.
Go Cougars!
