Founded in 1999, Project Cornerstone is a community initiative, led by YMCA of Silicon Valley, with the mission to create an environment where all adults support youth so they grow up to be healthy, caring, and responsible adults. Our programs are structured around the 40 Developmental Assets established by researchers at the Search Institute in Minneapolis, MN. Updated Wed, Aug 30th

Our first day of school was a great success!  Students, teachers, and families welcomed and greeted one another with smiles and high fives.  Our teachers and staff began getting to know students and teaching them about Capri's PBIS expectations around campus.  Students are being taught what it looks like and sounds like to be respectful, responsible and safe at Capri.

Students in K-3 met their PE teachers today while the other grade levels will do so over the next few days.  Recess 101 was on campus supporting students and organizing games during recess time.

We even practiced our evacuation procedures as we had a very small kitchen fire that was put out quickly with a fire extinguisher.  No one was ever in danger and our students and staff orchestrated our Incident Command System (emergency procedures) to a tee.

We are looking forward to a wonderful school year!
