CUSD schools are closed from March 16 - April 10th due to concerns associated with the COVID virus. We wanted to make resources available for families so that the learning can continue at home during this time.  These will not be scored or graded. We will provide you with additional resources on a weekly basis. If you have questions about these resources, please email your student’s teacher and message them on SeeSaw. Here are the resources by Grade Level

The Assistance League of Los Gatos spent Thursday Morning at Capri for Inquiry and Innovation Day. They brought each 3rd Grader a copy of "Ada Lace on the Case" a book by Emily Calandrelli about a third-grade scientist and inventor extraordinaire. The Assistance League volunteer read an excerpt from Ada Lace and then asked the students to hypothesize whether an orange would float in water and then performed the experiment.

Monday, March 2nd was Read Across America Day sponsored by the National Education Association.  Capri celebrated by wearing PJ's and inviting guest readers into our classrooms. Campbell Union School District Superintendent, Dr. Shelly Veramontez, Judge Mike Clark, and  Officer Stevie from the Campbell Police Department were some of our guest readers.  Capri Principal, Heather Wellendorf, Mrs. Eshoff and Mrs. Cota all escaped into the classrooms to read.  Some of the favorite books for the day were "Green Eggs and Ham" and "Oh the Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss.

Capri does not have after school supervision.  Students must either go to Campbell Care, an official after school program, leave campus, or be actively supervised by their parents or adult caregivers.  On Wednesdays, the basketball courts and field are closed after school.  Village school is still in session and having recess during our dismissal time.  The field and basketball courts are for their use only, during this time.

Please help us keep Capri and Village safe for all of our students.

Ecoliteracy is the study of the natural world combined with the study of humans relate to their environment and healthy eating habits. When Living Classroom students are growing vegetables to harvest in the winter to make vegetable soup or they are planting wheat in the fall to be harvested in the spring to make pretzels, they are learning valuable lessons about environmental stewardship, ecoliteracy, and healthy eating.

This winter, first grade students will learn all about bird species in their lesson "The Best Nest." During this lesson, students will identify materials that birds may use to build their nests and have the opportunity to build their own! Third grade students will learn all about "The Mighty Worm" this month! In their lesson, they will learn how worms are a key player in producing healthy soil, and they will create a worm bin!
