Hi, my name is Mimi Farber and I am so excited to be part of the Capri family. I was born and raised in San Jose and I attended the Campbell Union High School District. It is so great to come back "home". I love to travel and explore new areas. This year I am looking forward to traveling to Iceland to hopefully see the Northern Lights! I have a dog named Lola, she is so cute, and she brings me so much joy. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and going out for a meal, sushi is my favorite. I attended UC Davis, (Go Ags!) for undergrad, double majoring in Psychology and Communications, and continued at UC Davis for my teaching credential and Masters in Education. This is my twelfth year teaching. I love helping students learn, and achieve new goals. I value being a part of their foundational years and building memories together. Thank you for welcoming me into Capri!

Capri relies on volunteers to help support some of our programs.  Our library, Project Cornerstone, and the PTA can all use volunteers.

Volunteering at school is a great way to connect with other parents and create a circle of adult friends.

All volunteers must be COVID-19 vaccinated, TB tested, and have filled out the CUSD volunteer packet.

If you are interested in volunteering check with your classroom teacher or reach out to our PTA at capriptaca [at] gmail.com.

4th grade will be designing and building model cars as a part of their science instruction this year.  In preparation for this, our Teaching and Learning Department created a Wonder Wednesday just for them!  Students were treated to an in-depth look at all the parts that go into making an internal combustion engine vehicle.

Your child's attendance significantly impacts their educational achievement.

Did you know:

  • Attendance is the number one predictor of dropout and graduation rates.
  • only 17% of chronically absent students in kindergarten and 1st grade can read on grade level.
  • There is a 25% drop in the likelihood of graduating high school in 4 years when students are absent between 5-9 days per semester.
  • As little as 5-9 absences a semester can drop a student's GPA from a 3.0 to 2.7

Please notify the office every day that your child is absent from school.  To report an absence, call (408) 341-7118 for the 24 hr. attendance line.  Any unverified absence is unexcused.

If you have seen a medical professional, please bring us a doctor's note to have your child's absence medically verified.

Your student is allowed 10 days of parent verified absence due to an illness for the school year. After the 10 days, you will need to bring in a doctor's note to clear the absences.

Campbell Union School District publishes its school calendar in the Spring so families can plan vacations around school holidays. Vacations are not excused absences. Vacation are considered unexcused and will generate truancy letters.

Thank you to our community for helping us all through the first days of the 2022-2023 school year!  It always takes a few days to get into a new routine so we appreciate the help.  Thank you for following our procedures surrounding drop-off and pick-up including leaving campus promptly after the 8:00 bell rings.

Please continue to be respectful to our neighbors by driving safely in the neighborhood, not blocking driveways, and parking legally.

Enjoy some pictures from our first few days.
