Founded in 1999, Project Cornerstone is a community initiative, led by YMCA of Silicon Valley, with the mission to create an environment where all adults support youth so they grow up to be healthy, caring, and responsible adults. Our programs are structured around the 40 Developmental Assets established by researchers at the Search Institute in Minneapolis, MN. Developmental Assets outline the positive experiences, relationships, skills, and values that children and teens need to grow into thriving adults.

The Council reviews the school plan annually, establishes a budget, makes modifications as necessary, and assists in the evaluation of the school’s programs. Members are elected by the groups that they represent. Parent and community representatives and alternates are elected for a two-year term.
If you are interested, please complete this Google Form with a short description of why you'd like to be on the council and your name will be added to the ballot. All submissions are due by Friday, May 24.
After spending three days with all students, our wonderful kinder teachers have shuffled a few students to better balance classes.
Please see this list 2023-24 Kinder Classes for your student's teacher.
These changes will take place on Monday, August 21.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Our first day of school was a great success! Students, teachers, and families welcomed and greeted one another with smiles and high fives. Our teachers and staff began getting to know students and teaching them about Capri's PBIS expectations around campus. Students are being taught what it looks like and sounds like to be respectful, responsible and safe at Capri.
Students in K-3 met their PE teachers today while the other grade levels will do so over the next few days. Recess 101 was on campus supporting students and organizing games during recess time.
We even practiced our evacuation procedures as we had a very small kitchen fire that was put out quickly with a fire extinguisher. No one was ever in danger and our students and staff orchestrated our Incident Command System (emergency procedures) to a tee.
We are looking forward to a wonderful school year!

To help ensure the safety of all, please note these reminders regarding morning drop off and afternoon pickup:
-
School gates will open at 7:50 AM and students are to make their way to their classroom lines. Adults may enter campus and wait with their children.
-
Please refrain from playing on the play structure or with equipment during morning drop off and after school pick up.
-
School starts at 8:00 AM sharp. Any student arriving after this time will need to check in with the office for a tardy slip.
-
After school adults will be allowed on campus to pick up students.
-
TK, kinder, first grade, and second grade students must be picked up at their classrooms unless arrangements have been made with your child’s homeroom teacher.
-
All adults and students need to leave campus immediately after pick up. We have Campbell Care and other programs on campus that require us to secure the campus for everyone's safety.
-
The circular driveway is used for loading and unloading only. Please do not park. We need to keep the traffic flowing.
-
Capri does have a bus that will be dropping off and picking students up each day. Please do not block the bus loading zone in front of the preschool playground.
-
Let’s be good neighbors and not block driveways or mailboxes.
- Please drive cautiously through the neighborhood.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
