Capri is proud to name Kim Scheerer as our Volunteer of the Year. Her outstanding leadership and tireless efforts have helped shape our wonderful school community. Kim began her early years at Capri as a Room Parent and active member of various committees, and for the past two years she has served as President of the PTA. In addition to her Board position, Kim has chaired the Fall Festival, the Walk-a-Thon, the Spring Fling, Reading Under the Moon and Stars, Movie Nights, and numerous fundraisers including See’s Candy and Mixed Bags.

Over the next few weeks, students in grades 3-5 will be taking the new State CAASPP assessments in Language Arts and Math. Also, students in grades K-5 will complete end-of-the-year district tests. It is very important for students to attend school each day and to arrive on time. 

Classroom renovations are underway. Each classroom on campus is getting a new projector mounted on the ceiling, along with a brand new document cameras and an AppleTV. The project should be completed by the end of Summer 2015. Thank you for everyone's patience as we modernize our learning spaces.

On Tuesday, April 28, Sharkie visited Capri to congratulate two classrooms for their outstanding performance in the Reading is Cool program. Top classrooms of the month were Ms. Scilingo’s 2nd grade students and Mrs. Pastewski’s third graders. Sharkie brought books for the classroom libraries, bookmarks for the students, and then joined them for a photo session.
