Accomplishments

The fundamental purpose of our school is to continuously increase learning and socio-emotional development for all students. Our work and accomplishments are driven by this purpose as we strive to educate all students to their highest potential. 

  • Recognized by the California PBIS Coalition for the successful PBIS implementation at the SILVER level, reflecting excellence in the measurement of fidelity as well as Capri’s efforts in implementing the core features of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. 
  • Recognized by Innovate Public Schools at a Top Bay Area Public School for Underserved Students based on strong state assessment results for low income Latino students in 2017-2018 school year.
  • Recognized by California PBIS Coalition for the outstanding contribution of support and care during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic and resulting disruptions to school.  

  • Use of student social-behavioral and academic data to inform and facilitate teacher planning and instruction and continue to implement our School Wide Positive Behavior and Intervention and Support (SWPBIS) approach to student social behavioral education and development.
  • Implementation of our district initiative Profile of a Graduate, which teaches students vital 21st century skills such as self-direction, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Leveraging technology in creative and innovative ways to engage students in learning in multiple ways and to provide opportunities for students to develop essential critical thinking skills.
  • Implementation of our Multi-Tier Systems of Support (MTSS) to support all students in reaching their highest potential.
  • Instruction continues to be based on the California Common Core Standards, and the standards are broken down by Learning Targets so students can articulate their learning objective and monitor their progress towards meeting it.
  • Use of assessment to drive instruction in support of all learners and to measure effectiveness of instructional programs, goals, and achievements.
  • Use of English language instruction using Systematic ELD strategies during ELD cluster grouping to further increase student achievement.
  • Enhance our students’ experience with assemblies, field trips, PE, music, STEAM lab and Living Classrooms (a garden program).
