Living Classroom Update
Capri Students are learning about Ecoliteracy.
Ecoliteracy is the study of the natural world combined with the study of humans relate to their environment and healthy eating habits. When Living Classroom students are growing vegetables to harvest in the winter to make vegetable soup or they are planting wheat in the fall to be harvested in the spring to make pretzels, they are learning valuable lessons about environmental stewardship, ecoliteracy, and healthy eating.
This winter, first grade students will learn all about bird species in their lesson "The Best Nest." During this lesson, students will identify materials that birds may use to build their nests and have the opportunity to build their own! Third grade students will learn all about "The Mighty Worm" this month! In their lesson, they will learn how worms are a key player in producing healthy soil, and they will create a worm bin!
