Fall conferences will take place between October 30 and November 3.  Students will be dismissed at 12:05 p.m. (Grades TK – 3) and 12:10 p.m. (Grades 4-5) every day that week. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents, teachers, and students to meet to discuss student progress and learning goals for the year. We are asking for a quiet campus during conferences. We are asking that students not be playing on the field or play structure after school. This will allow our teachers quiet uninterrupted time to meet with parents and students. Thank you for your support.

How to Prepare for Parent Conferences

Parent Conferences are an important time to discuss your child's strengths and areas of challenge and also make a plan to best support them. Here are some suggestions on how to make the most of your time:

1. Write down questions beforehand.

2. Take a notepad and something to write with so you leave with correct information.

3. Use this time to discuss your child and share any important information with your teacher about previous years’ experiences.

4. Share this information with your child when you get home. Celebrate milestones and discuss challenges.

5. Stay in touch with your teacher through email, phone calls, or schedule a follow-up meeting.

Here are some sample questions to ask in your conference:

*Is my child working up to his/her ability? How are they performing socially with peers?

*Is there anything we can do at home to further support our child?

*What skills will my child be expected to master by the end of the year in Reading, Math, or Writing?

*What can I do to make sure they are ready for the state testing in May?

Don't forget we are a team and want the best for your child! Looking forward to seeing you all for conference week.

safety first

The safety of our children, both physical and emotional is the highest priority. As we arrive and leave daily, the mornings can be a stressful time and the afternoons a confusing time as families and students rush or linger about. It is vital that we model the patience and respect we want our children to take into their future. Allow yourself time to find parking and walk. Please be respectful of marked parking stalls and any traffic cones. Also, please be thoughtful of our neighbors and do not park on grass, in or in front of driveways, obey the parking signs, and be courteous of pedestrian and automobile traffic.
