Did you know bees live 4-6 weeks and have 5 eyes? Third Graders at Capri do! Thanks to Santa Clara Valley Beekepers Guild our Capri Cougars learned how important bees are to our ecosystem. After the presentation, they had the opportunity to observe the bees in their enclosure and try on glasses that allowed they to see how the bees see!

We had another fantastic Capri Parent Learning Community. Parents learned how to support reading at home from our Reading Intervention Teacher.

On March 13th, Capri TK - 3rd grade students were part of the City of Campbell's celebration of Arbor Day. In addition to being visited by the Mayor Waterman and CUSD Superintendent Dr. Viramontez, the TreeCircus gave a highly engaging “edu-taining” assembly at schools! During their performances, TreeCircus taughts students about biology, urban forestry, and even careers in arboriculture. They helped students understand how their local trees can lower the temperature and raise their spirits. After the assembly, the 5th grade classes planted trees along the field. We want to thank the City of Campbell, Tree Circus, and our distrist for making this day such a success.

Today, 4th and 5th Graders learned about healthly living and exercise from The Stick to Fitness street hockey program. The Sharks Foundation, in partnership with Kaiser Permanente, donated street hockey equipment, a teacher training manual, student work booklets, a USB containing videos of Sharks defenseman Brenden Dillon performing street hockey skills, kid-friendly healthy living giveaways, as well as other surprises all at no cost to our school. Today's visit, which included a former Sharks player and an official Team Physician of the Sharks. Thank you Sharks Foundation and Kaiser Permanente!

Capri celebrated Read Across America with special guest readers! Thank you to all our readers and Ms. Eshoff for making today memorable for our students.

Our 3rd Grade students received their very own dictionaries and a wonderful lesson on how to use them! Thank you Assistance League of Los Gatos-Saratoga!
