The City of San Jose's Walk-N-Roll program has some fun challenges and contests for our students to get them up and moving. We usually have our International Walk or Roll to school day in October and with Distance Learning, that's not a possibility. The City of San Jose has replaced it with a fun activity to get our students up and moving. Click on the flyer below for more information and let's get out and move!

Our teachers incorporate social emotional learning into their instruction to support the whole child. One of the curriculum we use is Character Strong. Character Strong offers at home components you can use with your students too.

Here are some activities you can do at home to reinforce our last Profile of a Graduate competency Empathy:

Between October 12th- 23rd your student will participate in the Panorama survey, which measures perceptions of our school culture and climate. Kindergarten - 2nd grade teachers input their observations of students, and 3rd - 5th grade students take the survey independently.  Staff also takes the survey. Additional information was sent out by our District Office.

Is flu vaccine safe?
Flu vaccines are made using strict safety and
production measures. Millions of people have
safely received flu vaccines for decades. Flu
shots and nasal spray flu vaccines are both
options for vaccination. Different types of flu
vaccines are licensed for different ages. Each
person should get one that is appropriate for
their age. CDC and the American Academy of
Pediatrics recommend an annual flu vaccine for
all children 6 months and older.

Please see the attached flyer for information on where you and your family can get a free flu vaccination.
