The CDC has updated masking guidelines since our last school year. You can read the entire COVID-19 Public Health Guidance for K-12 Schools in California, 2021-22 School Year.
CUSD will follow the CDC's recommendations as well as local guidelines.
Masking has been—and continues to be—a powerful tool in helping reduce the spread of COVID-19
These guidelines are current as of August, 4, 2021, and may change or be updated.
Please make sure your child wears a properly fitted mask to school and send extras in their backpack. Classrooms have extra masks for students who may need one.

Please make sure to check the school calendar before making vacation plans or appointments. The firsts day of school is August 19, 2021, and the last day of school is June 10, 2022.
The Capri office is back open and we are working hard to plan for our new school year. Our yearly mailing will be mailed out on Thursday, August 5th so please check your mailboxes. It will include a lot of important information including a welcome letter from Capri Principal, Eric Brown. If you would like a sneak peek, the letter is attached below in both English and Spanish. Please continue to check our website for updates and be sure to sign up for our weekly newsletter.
We had perfect weather for our promotion ceremony held outside in front of our lovely Capri Mural. Mr. Brown and Mrs. Eshoff handed out promotion certificates to all of our 5th grade students.
After the conclusion of the ceremony, Mrs. Vander Kooi let the students around campus for a parade. Our 5th graders were cheered on by the younger students, many holding signs of congratulations and encouragement.
After the younger students were dismissed the 5th graders had a pizza and Ice cream lunch (thank you PTA for providing the funds for lunch).
The afternoon ended with music, dancing, yearbook signing, and reminiscing about their days at Capri.
Thank you, Mrs. McGriff, Mrs. Vander Kooi, and Mrs. Welsh for re-imagining our 5th grade promotion during this pandemic year.

I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for your understanding, flexibility, and hard work as this school year has been like no other. From zoom classes to hybrid instruction, to full re-opening, you have been fantastic. Our teachers and staff have been called “superheroes” well, that can also be said for our parent community. Thank you for making sure your student(s) arrived on time ready to learn at whatever stage we were in. We also thank you for your kind words of support along the way.
As restrictions continue to loosen, I hope you will find time to enjoy the summer with family and friends. Until next year, be well and stay safe. Enjoy!
As this school year comes to a close, the Capri PTA Executive Board wanted to extend our thanks and appreciation for your participation in our PTA community this year. Your fundraising dollars from last year supported our staff and students throughout the school year and it was our privilege to make sure that money was used in the best way possible. From classroom supplies to campus improvements, assemblies and celebrations, we strive to make each dollar count. Be on the lookout in August for PTA information for the 2021/2022 school year and we look forward to continuing our mission of service into next year.
Have a wonderful and safe summer,
Laurie DeVito, President
Sarah Philip, Vice President
Lisa Rich, Treasurer
Cindy Hamilton, Secretary
In order to support our students this year, Chromebooks were distributed to all. At this time, if your child/ren has not yet returned their Chromebook, charging cord, and hot spot (if they have one), please do so. Over the summer, our Tech Department will clean and repair all of the Chromebooks to prepare them for the 2021-2022 school year. Thank you!
